BBQ Grill Design Contest

The 2017 ESOP Communication Committee would like to invite all employees to participate in a contest to design a Company BBQ. The goal is to have the Tucson Shop fabricate custom grills to serve us during company picnics and cook-outs. Budget permitting, the committee would like to have one grill at each location.

Your submittal should be drawn or sketched out with dimensions. Depending on the number of designs submitted, there may be one design selected for each grill. You may enter more than one design. Be sure to include your name and employee number with your entry.

Submit your drawings and ideas to the ESOP committee by January 13th and the person(s) with the selected design(s) will win a prize.

Three ways to enter:

EMAIL your design to Elise Puhala at epuahala@kegtus.com.

HAND your drawing to your supervisor or any current ESOP Communication Committee Member.

DROP IT in the ESOP Comment Box located in the Office and Shop of both locations.

2016 Shareholders Meeting

The second annual ESOP meeting was held on August 20, 2016 in Sierra Vista. This was another great event held in the late afternoon at the Windemere Hotel.

Presentations were made by United Healthcare and Lovitt & Touche concerning our health care provider switch from Blue Cross to United Healthcare. Representatives were on hand to answer any questions stockholders had concerning the coverage. Pat Zumbusch and Deidre Kochanski were on hand from Wellspring Financial Advisors to offer advice and tips. Wellspring is offering all of the KE&G employees an incredible opportunity to develop a personalized retirement plan, at a minimal cost. I encourage all to take advantage of this offer.

Once again, many awesome prizes were raffled off to the lucky people that attended. TV’s, tablets, tools, camping gear, and many other great gifts. Mike Taylor had the closest guess to the new stock price and won a cash prize. Congratulations Mike! The best gift of the event was definitely the new stock price. The price once again increased from 2014 to 2015! Congratulations to all KE&G Stockholders. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to KE&G. It is paying off for all of us.

2015 KE&G Recap

With December brings an end to the yearly activities that the ESOP Communication Committee is part of. This year with the entire committee’s help, we had a great picnic in March, a new Adopt-A-Highway sign on Busby Drive, Stockholder’s meeting in August, ESOP Fun Fridays in addition to company cookout in October, and another successful Toys for Tots drive with the help from Empire Cat, Border Traffic Safety, and the Marine Corps. As those of you who received new ESOP statements this year are aware, an ESOP is a great tool to give back to the individuals who help make it successful every day. Since KE&G is a young ESOP I cannot wait to see what the future will hold for all of us. With the company being 100% employee owned we all should work hard to heed Ben Franklin’s motto of a penny saved is a penny earned. When we work together to complete projects as safe, efficient, and productive as possible it not only helps us now, but in the future during retirement also.

Serving as the chairman to the Communication Committee this year has been a fun and new experience, and I’d like to thank the ESOP Communication Committee members who will be staying (Dan Crater, Richard Hunziker, Jack Schaff, Doc Archambault, Larry Saunders, and Ed Anderson) those whose 2-year term ends (Jeff Olejnik, Tammy Messer, Chuck Ugalde, and Bill Miller.) I’d also like to welcome the new members for 2016 including Ross Parker, Rick McMahon, Elise Puhala, Chris Hernandez, Ridge Wilson, George Norwood, and Chris Weinell.

2015 Toys for Tots Toy Drive

Thank you KE&G employees and their families for volunteering your time, to Empire CAT for the use of their Loader, to Border Traffic Safety for the safety fence, to  Dana Kepner Company for the food and refreshments, and to Toys R Us for allowing us to hold our toy drive at their location. We had another successful event! KE&G collected loader buckets full of new toys  from the generous people of our community. Much appreciation to those who  contributed. You helped children less fortunate to experience the joy of Christmas.

Once again, the KE&G ESOP Communication Committee has teamed up with Toys R Us and Empire CAT to help collect new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages for the Toys for Tots program. We will be set up with a donation table and a CAT Loader in the parking lot of Toys R Us store on 4525 North Oracle Road on December 5th, 6th, 12th, and 13th.
