At KE&G safety is a priority and is embedded in our culture. We recognize that we have a moral obligation to our workforce, our clients and the general public to perform our construction projects in the safest possible manner.

Safety is a priority & is embedded in our culture.

In an effort to continuously reinforce these core values, KE&G’s full-time Safety manager’s sole job is to teach, inspect and maintain safety in all aspects for KE&G. This includes conducting monthly supervisor safety meetings for all supervisory personnel to review our collective performance and discuss how we can improve. All Superintendents, Foreman, Field Engineers, and Project Managers have been trained in Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) principles.

The SWPPP Coordinator at KE&G inspects all of our jobsites every week to insure that each and every site maintains the highest possible level of environmental protection. The Best Management Practices (BMP’s) that KE&G uses in its SWPPP plans have been picked for their reduced environmental impact. KE&G also makes every possible attempt to “tread lightly” on jobsites and to minimize the amount of destruction caused to the habitats surrounding jobsites. We utilize the DuPont Safety Training and Observation Program (STOP) method of behavioral safety training. All of our supervisory personnel, including foremen and lead men have undergone significant instruction in the implementation of STOP, including a 16-hour initial training session and annual 4-hour refreshers. Included in KE&G’s safety program, a safety committee and a safety incentive program was also implemented to promote safety, which has resulted in a positive safety culture for the company, and more so for the employees. KE&G strongly believes that every employee is entitled to a safe and healthful place in which to work. We have a moral obligation to our employees, our clients & the public to perform our construction projects in the safest manner possible.
