The Williams Water Meter Replacement project is in the final stage of meter installations. To date there has been nearly 1500 meters installed, which is more than what we expected to install. Our meter crews have discovered several meters during the installation process that the city did not know existed. Some of these meters have been running without being billed for over a decade, costing the city hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue. The meter installation will be nearly complete by Thanksgiving, with only a few commercial meters to install after the holiday. The antenna will be installed the first week of December and will be ready for the city’s meter readings later on in the month. The project should be complete and ready to turn over to the city in time for the new year.
